Worship Reflections – "See A Victory"

WORSHIP REFLECTIONS are weekly devotionals based on worship songs/hymns. Our hope is that this content encourages your love and adoration of Christ Jesus as you grow in closer communion with Him through personal worship.

Letitia Ugwueke, Singer/Worship Leader, Cornerstone Church Nashville, presents this worship song devotional based on the worship song "See A Victory".

This devotional is based on the song See a Victory which comes from 1 Samuel 17:45-47.

The song lists all the things that will not prosper over the mighty hand of God. That is weapons of the spiritual realm, darkness, wars waged, and giants. The song says “My God will never fail...my God will never fail.” Then the chorus says “I’m gonna see a victory...for the battle belongs to the Lord.”

Have you faced battles that at the time seemed like they were going to take you out? I mean so overwhelming you couldn't sleep at night? Your stomach was in knots and you could not relax? Or you felt like it was one hit after another and you were crying out to God saying, “Lord, I can’t take it anymore!!!” Or maybe you prayed, “Lord are you there? Can you hear me? Why aren’t you doing anything?”

I know that there have been times of discouragement, fear, doubt, and trial after trial, that I have wanted to give up and give in. Under the weight of uncertainty, I have wanted to throw in the towel and allow my circumstances to overtake me. But over and over again, my God comes through for me. What I cannot see, He sees. What I don’t understand, He is in it working things out for my good. Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

If this is true, then God is WORKING it out, not me, not you, He is working on our behalf. The unseen, the things you can’t control, the things that happen beyond my ability...He is working it out. And if He is working it out, then the battle belongs to the Lord... not me. See back in Romans 8, it says He works all things for the good of those who LOVE Him. Our job is to love God...PERIOD. Ya’ll it's always in the SURRENDER. Let Him fight for you. He is stronger, wiser and bigger than any problem you might face in life.

When David entered the battlefield...this is what he said, “You come against me sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head”. He finished in verse 47 by saying, “And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s and He will give you into our hands.”

It's all about His glory. It's about God showing out for you and His children. The battle is not yours!!!! It belongs to the Lord.

IF God can enable David to beat a WHOLE giant, then there is no giant in your life that God cannot enable you to overcome. God promises that you will see a victory.
