2 Chronicles 25 tells us of a King named Amaziah. He reigned over Jerusalem for twenty-nine years. He was a good king and did what was right in God’s sight. But here’s the kicker...he did not do it with all of his heart - “he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not wholeheartedly” (2 Chronicles 25:2). You see, Amaziah obeyed God...most of the time. He worshiped God...somewhat. He dedicated his life to God...until something better came along. He sang all the right songs. He said all the right words. But he did not do it wholeheartedly.

When you worship, do you do it with all your heart? Do you give 100% of yourself as you respond to what God has done for you? Do you put aside all else and focus on Almighty God, your Lord and Savior? Do you do Mark 12:30: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength”? Not with some of your heart, but all of it. As we worship God Most High, let’s commit to worshiping in awe and reverence for who He is and what He’s done. Let all else fade away and focus on the One who is all else.
