Jesus Christ, To Thee Be Glory Download

All Glory Be To Christ
Words by Dustin Kensrue; Music: Traditional Scottish Folk Tune (“Auld Lang Syne”)

Should nothing of our efforts stand
No legacy survive
Unless the Lord does raise the house
In vain its builders strive
To you who boast tomorrow’s gain
Tell me what is your life
A mist that vanishes at dawn
All glory be to Christ!

All glory be to Christ our King!
All glory be to Christ!
His rule and reign we’ll ever sing
All glory be to Christ!

His will be done
His kingdom come
On earth as is above
Who is himself our daily bread
Praise him the Lord of love
Let living water satisfy
The thirsty without price
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet
All glory be to Christ!

When on the day the great I Am
The faithful and the true
The Lamb who was for sinners slain
Is making all things new
Behold our God shall live with us
And be our steadfast light
And we shall ere his people be
All glory be to Christ!

Call to Worship

“Christ is all. We are complete in him. He is the answer to every need, the perfect Savior. He needs no decoration to heighten his beauty, no prop to increase his stability, no girding to perfect his strength. Who can gild refined gold, whiten the snow, perfume the rose of heighten the colors of the summer sunset?

Who will prop the mountains or help the great deep? It is not Christ and philosophy, nor Christ and money, nor civilization, nor diplomacy, nor science, nor organization. It is Christ alone.

He trod the winepress alone. His own arm brought salvation. He is enough. He is the comfort, the strength, the wisdom, the righteousness, the sanctification of all mankind.”

In Christ Alone

In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This Cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my all in all,
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

Jesus, who had eternally been God by nature, did not cling to his prerogatives as God’s equal, but stripped himself of all privilege by consenting to be a slave by nature and being born as mortal man.

In Christ alone who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe.
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones he came to save:
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.

And, having become man, he humbled himself by living a life of utter obedience, even to the extent of dying, and the death he died was the death of a common criminal.

There in the ground his body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave he rose again!
And as he stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am his and he is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

That is why God has now lifted him so high, and has given him the name beyond all names, so that at the name of Jesus “every knee shall bow,” whether in Heaven or earth or under the earth.

And that is why, in the end, “every tongue shall confess” that Jesus Christ” is the Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:5–11

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life’s first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from his hand:
Till he returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.

LEADER:
Jesus, you are the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn over all creation.

CONGREGATION:
In you all things were created: things in heaven and on earth,
visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through you and for you.

LEADER:
You are before all things,
and in you all things hold together.

CONGREGATION:
And you are the head of the body, the church;

LEADER:
you are the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead,
so that in everything you might have the supremacy.

CONGREGATION:
For the Father was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in you,
and through you to reconcile to himself all things,
whether things on earth or things in heaven,
by making peace through your blood, shed on the cross.

LEADER:
We were once alienated from God
and were your enemies because of our evil behavior.

CONGREGATION:
But no longer,
because you have reconciled us by your physical death
to present you holy in you sight,
without blemish and free from accusation.

LEADER:
Now Jesus, we ask you to finish what you have begun,
that we would continue in our faith,
established and firm,
not moving from the hope held out in the gospel.
Amen.

Alleluia! Sing To Jesus
Words by W. Chatterton Dix (1866); Tune: HYFRYDOL

Alleluia! Sing to Jesus;
His the scepter, his the throne.
Alleluia! His the triumph,
His the victory alone.
Hark! The songs of peaceful Zion
Thunder like a mighty flood;
"Jesus out of ev’ry nation
Has redeemed us by his blood.

Alleluia! Not as orphans
Are we left in sorrow now.
Alleluia! He is near us;
Faith believes, nor questions how.
Though the cloud from sight received Him
When the forty days were o’er,
Shall our hearts forget His promise,
"I am with you evermore"?

Alleluia! Bread of heaven,
Here on earth our food, our stay.
Alleluia! Here the sinful
Flee to you from day to day.
Intercessor, Friend of sinners,
Earth’s Redeemer, hear our plea
Where the songs of all the sinless
Sweep across the crystal sea.

The Mystery of the Faith

And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ's offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith.

Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again!

Christ Is Risen

Let no one caught in sin remain
Inside the lie of inward shame
But fix our eyes upon the cross
And run to him who showed great love
And bled for us
Freely you’ve bled for us

Christ is risen from the dead
Trampling over death by death
Come awake come awake
Come and rise up from the grave
Christ is risen from the dead
We are one with him again
Come awake come awake
Come and rise up from the grave

Beneath the weight of all our sin
You bowed to none but heaven’s will
No scheme of hell no scoffer’s crown
No burden great can hold you down
In strength you reign
Forever let your church proclaim

O death where is your sting
O hell where is your victory
O church come stand in the light
The glory of God has defeated the night
O death where is your sting
O hell where is your victory
O church come stand in the light
Our God is not dead he's alive he’s alive

Benediction

Since, then, we have been raised with Christ, let’s set our hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Let’s set our minds on things above, not on earthly things. For we died, and our life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, appears, then we also will appear with him in glory.
