Oh the Mighty Hand
Words and Music by Jonny Robinson

Oh the mighty hand that controls the sea
Is the hand that fights for and cares for me
And the God who thunders, the God ablaze
Is the God who loves me a million ways

Oh the mountains tremble the earth it shakes
For my God has heard of the laws I break
But he holds the fire of his wrath from me
And he sends his Son to a cruel tree

Praise to God
For the world he made
For the Son he gave
For the price he paid
Praise to God
Let the song be raised
Up to God my God
And the One who saves

Oh his glory more than my eyes can take
For my God he lives in a holy state
But he shows the beat of his heart to me
In the face of Christ for eternity

Oh the saints will roar on the final day
For the mighty King and his glorious name
But the God who reigns as the world shall bow
He is in my heart and he loves me now

LEADER:
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in the heavenly realms
with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

CONGREGATION:
Thank you, Father, for your Son,
and for every spiritual blessing we have in Him.

LEADER:
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world
to be holy and blameless in his sight.

CONGREGATION:
Thank you, Father, for including us in your plan,
for redeeming us, making us acceptable in your sight.

LEADER:
In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ,
in accordance with his pleasure and will—

CONGREGATION:
to the praise of his glorious grace,

LEADER:
which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

Who You Say I Am

Who am I that the highest King would welcome me
I was lost but he brought me in, oh his love for me
Oh his love for me

Who the Son sets free oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God, yes I am

Free at last he has ransomed me his grace runs deep
While I was a slave to sin Jesus died for me
Yes he died for me

Who the Son sets free oh is free indeed
I’m a child of God, yes I am
In my Father’s house there’s a place for me
I’m a child of God, yes I am

I am chosen, not forsaken
I am who you say I am
You are for me, not against me
I am who you say I am

Prayer

Thank you, Father, for adopting us as sons, for Jesus who proudly considers us his brothers, for the gracious welcome we enjoy in your family, and for your intention to eternally heap on blessing and grace.

AMEN.

How Deep the Father’s Love For Us
Words and Music by Stuart Townend

How deep the Father’s love for us,
How vast beyond all measure,
That he should give his only Son
To make a wretch his treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns his face away,
As wounds which mar the chosen One
Bring many sons to glory.

Behold the man upon a cross,
My sin upon his shoulders;
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held him there
Until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything,
No gifts, no power, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from his reward?
I cannot give an answer;
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom.

Offering Prayer

Offertory:
The Love of God
Words and Music by Frederick M. Lehman (1917)

The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
And reaches to the lowest hell;
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave his Son to win;
His erring child he reconciled,
And pardoned from his sin.

Oh, love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
The saints’ and angels’ song.

When hoary time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall;
When men who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call;
God’s love, so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam’s race
The saints’ and angels’ song. [Refrain]

Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made;
Were ev’ry stalk on earth a quill,
And ev’ry man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole
Tho' stretched from sky to sky. [Refrain]

Prayer of Illumination

Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that, as the Scriptures are read and your Word proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen.

The Mystery of the Faith

And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ's offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith.

Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again!

Ancient of Days
Words and Music by Jonny Robinson, Rich Thompson, Michael Farren, Jesse Reeves© 2018 CityALight Music

Though the nations rage, kingdoms rise and fall
There is still one King reigning over all
So I will not fear for this truth remains:
That my God is the Ancient of Days

None above him, none before him, all of time in his hands
For His throne it shall remain and ever stand
All the power, all the glory, I will trust in his name
For my God is the Ancient of Days

Though the dread of night overwhelms my soul
He is here with me, I am not alone
O his love is sure and he knows my name
For my God is the Ancient of Days

Though I may not see what the future brings
I will watch and wait for the Savior King
Then my joy complete standing face to face
In the presence of the Ancient of Days

Benediction

May the peace of God our heavenly Father, and the grace of Christ the risen Son, and the fellowship of God the Spirit keep our hearts and minds within His love.
